The Martin Custom Shop Expert Dealer 000-28 1937 w/ Stage 1 Aging in Ambertone Sunburst is available only to select dealers! Learn more about this exclusive model with The Music Gallery! This guitar has been expertly aged at the factory so that it genuinely looks as though it has spent many decades being played by a loving owner. Similar to a Relic, you'll spot weather checking, some very light dings, and a perfectly patina-ed finish. Built with top-shelf selections of Adirondack Spruce, East Indian Rosewood, Genuine Mahogany, and Ebony, this guitar produces top-shelf tones, as well!

Martin's Expert Dealer Program was introduced in mid-2021 and we here at The Music Gallery are honored and excited to be a part of it! This wonderful model took the 1937 Authentic model and added some modern appeal, with an adjustable truss rod and a modified 30s neck profile that doesn't take baseball mitt-sized hands to play it!

The neck starts with Genuine Mahogany and is carved to the Modified V 30s Neck Profile. This version of the neck is smaller all around making it far more comfortable for the hands of 2022 rather than 1937. The neck features Martin's Standard Taper so it gets noticeably bigger as the frets climb. A black Ebony Fingerboard was selected and carries a 16" fingerboard radius. 1.75" Nut Width provides a still-wide-but-not-too-wide playing surface. 24.9" Scale Length adds a little slinkiness to the feel so the strings have less tension than on say a D-18.

The body is made from only high-quality tone timbres. The top is made from Adirondack Spruce, the stiffer, louder, brother to Sitka Spruce that knows how to project its voice. The braces are also made from Adirondack Spruce and they are scalloped for maximum volume and projection. A bold Herringbone Inlay is outlined by Antique White Body Binding. This acoustic guitar is finished in the Ambertone Sunburst, the look is pure vintage!

The back and sides are made from East Indian Rosewood. This tonewood has been a staple in the world of acoustic guitar since the use of Brazilian Rosewood was culled. Now, with the situation in India, we are already seeing the prices of guitars featuring Indian Rosewood on the rise. The back panels selected for this guitar are high-grade, indeed, providing fine aesthetics and even finer harmonic content!

From the Martin Website...
The all-new Custom Shop 000-28 1937 rewards players with the sonic superiority of Martin’s Authentic Series and the everyday practicality of a workhorse guitar. Regarded as the cornerstone of performance, Martin’s highly prized 1937 models set the benchmark for generations of instruments that followed. This guitar sports time-tested features like Authentic bracing, hide glue and cloth strip construction, and an adjustable truss rod which gives enthusiasts the day-in, day-out reliability of an instrument that travels well AND responds to seasonal adjustments as it matures. With the all-new Custom Shop Expert 000-28 1937, the stars have aligned again.

Visually, this Model takes advantage of our proprietary Vintage Low Gloss process with a selection of craft-quality finishes. It is available in a natural or vintage Ambertone burst finish, AND your preference of our proprietary low-gloss or the new Stage 1 lightly aged finish. Lacking the heavy wear and tear of an instrument that’s seen considerable use, the Stage 1 finish with light cracking and crazing is inspired by those rare vintage instruments that were simply kept in the case and tucked away for decades. Our Stage 1 finish bears the marks of time but not the battle scars common on many vintage re-creations.
