The New Fender American Professional II Bass in Dark Knight is upon us! The Performer Series received some massive upgrades over the original version including update V Mod Pickups, upgraded hardware, and a new 63 neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges. Finished in the brand new and quite striking finish called Dark Knight, this beauty plays as good as it looks! This is the lightest P Bass I have ever see! At only 8 lbs 2 oz, this qualifies as a Feather Feight Fender Bass!
The ultra-playable neck on this upgraded model is made from a piece of maple then topped with a Rosewood Fingerboard. The neck features a 63 C Profile arguably one of the most comfortable neck profiles of all time! The back of the neck has what Fender calls the Super Natural Finish which simulates the feel of natural wood. It's a satin urethane that is super durable yet thin. With a nut width of 1.625" along with a 9.5" fingerboard radius, 20 narrow-tall frets, and a bone nut, this bass feels as good as it sounds!
The New V Mod II Pickups have been revamped to be more articulate, and maintain their Fender-esque qualities. A master volume and master tone are tied to the single P Bass pickup so this instrument is about as easy to navigate as they get! Fat, punchy, aggressive, assertive, this P-Bass sounds awesome!
A bevy of cool new colors is available and Mercury is certainly cool! A darker grey on the edges lightens up towards the middle providing a great new take on the sunburst. We are stoked to see Fender stepping out of the Black, White, Sunburst cycle and are loving these new colors!
