This Fender American Original 60s Stratocaster in Shell Pink weighs 8 lbs 2 oz. Summoning the spirit of the 1960s, The Fender American Original Series recreates some of the most sought-after Vintage Models to bear the Fender name. An Alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard provide the timeless tonewood combo that has become a staple of the guitar world.
A 2 Piece Alder body starts things off. This much loved and easy to work with tonewood offers up a rather blank tonal canvas, one that allows the pickups to really do their thing. The guitar is finished in Shell Pink Nitrocellulose Lacquer. So this baby will age naturally, just like those from back in the day!
The maple neck is carved to a Thick C Profile that measures in at .846" at the first fret and .994" at the 12th fret. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that carries a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 21 Vintage Tall Frets are installed. Scale Length of 25.5" and a nut width of 1.650" combine for a classic feeling Fender.
A set of Pure Vintage 65 Stratocaster Pickups are installed. Learn all about these fantastic sounding pickups here at Matt's Blog! They are tied to a master volume control, along with 2 tone controls, and a 5-way pickup selector switch.
The American Original Series from Fender really does an incredible job at capturing the essence of what made a few specific guitars cool. The 60s Strat showcases this perfectly!
