Crafted in Corona, California, the Fender American Performer Jazz Bass in Satin Surf Green delivers the exceptional tone and feel you expect from an authentic Fender—along with new enhancements that make it even more inspiring to play. Built with Alder and Maple, this Jazz pass is pure Fender awesomeness! This electric bass weighs 8 lbs 8 oz.
The American Performer Series from Fender offers the perfect specs. The neck is carved from maple to Fender's much-loved Modern C Profile. It is topped with a Maple Fingerboard that carries a 9.5" Fingerboard Radius. 20 x Medium-Jumbo Frets are installed and offers a smooth, glass-like playing surface. 34" scale length offers the perfect string tension: not too taut, and not so loose. Perfection! 1.5" nut width puts the string right under your fingers so finding them has never been easier.
The body is made from Alder, the most often used tonewood in the history of Fender. Introduced in 1957, this tonewood has gone on to be heard on thousands of classic, timeless, and hit recordings. This bass is finished in satin Surf Green so it lacks the glossy, trapped underwater look but offers a satin sheen that will polish up and shine more as it is played. Very cool, indeed!
The pickups are a pair of Yosemite Series Jazz Bass Single-Coils. Yosemite J Bass pickups are designed for rich, articulate sound in every combination. These single-coil Jazz Bass® pickups offer authentic Fender tone—growling lows with open highs. Alnico 5 magnets and Formvar-coated wiring create an expressive, well-defined voice that’s highly musical and dynamic—it fits in the mix with ease—while shellac coating controls potentially runaway feedback without compromising response.
