The New Fender American Professional II Stratocaster in Black is upon us! The Professional II Series received some massive upgrades from Fender Guitars over the original version including update V Mod Pickups, a new 2 Point Tremolo with a cold-rolled steel block, and a new Deep C neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges. This is the nicest playing guitar Fender can make for the money!
The ultra-playable neck on this upgraded model is made from a piece of maple. The neck features a Deep C Profile which has a nice medium size to it. The back of the neck has what Fender calls the Super Natural Finish which simulates the feel of natural wood. It's a satin urethane that is super durable yet thin. A slightly wider nut width than vintage is present at 1.685" along with 25.5" scale length, 9.5" fingerboard radius, 22 narrow-tall frets, and a bone nut.
The New V Mod II Single-Coil Pickups have been revamped to be more articulate, and maintain their Fender-Esque bell-like quality and chime. A master volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5-way switch make finding the tone you are looking for a breeze. A Push/Push potentiometer on the bottom tone control allows you to turn on the neck pickup thusly blending it with any of the other pickups.
A bevy of cool new colors is available but nothing is cooler than Black! The full gloss polyurethane finish gives the body a great shine and the 3 ply mint green pickguard completes the look perfectly! The body of this guitar is made from Alder, the most often used wood by Fender since 1957! This wood lets the pickups do their thing, for the most part, but adds some punchiness and balances out the frequencies very nicely. Less bright than Swamp Ash, if you wanna overdrive a Strat, Alder is the way to go!
