The Fender Jeff Beck Stratocaster in Olympic White is truly fitting for one of the most prolific, ground-breaking, and influential guitarists of all time. This Strat pushed Vintage boundaries upon its introduction and has certainly influenced the continued modernization of the Strat. With features like Hot Noiseless Pickups, Locking Tuners, a 2 Point Tremolo with Block Saddles, and a roller nut, this Strat allows for Beck-Like Tremolo usage and fantastic tuning stability!
Let's start with the main ingredient: an Alder Body. This time-tested tonewood was introduced to Fender in 1956 and has gone on to be the most often used wood in the companies history. The body of this guitar is finished in Olympic White, an absolute classic with a storied history. Alder makes a guitar sound balanced, punchy, and assertive so it's the perfect choice for Mr. Beck.
The neck is made from Maple and features a thinner C-shaped profile than previous versions. Some of the Beck's from years ago were much larger so this neck feels more like what you'd expect to feel on a Fender. The fingerboard is made from Rosewood and features a 9.5" fingerboard radius. 22 Medium Jumbo Frets adorn the fingerboard and give us a marvelous playing surface. A slightly wider nut width of 1.6875" provides us with a little more space between strings while 25.5" scale length keeps the strings feeling taut. A set of Deluxe, Staggered Height, Locking Tuners make string changes quick and easy.
A set of Hot Noiseless Stratocaster Single-Coil pickups stay dead quiet no matter how much gain or volume you are running. They retain the Strat-y qualities: bell-like, quacky, brilliant, but NOT the 60 cycle hum. The onboard controls are a Master Volume, 2 Tone Controls, and a 5-way pickup selector switch.
Few players have command of the guitar as Jeff Beck does. Not sure about that? Just watch his Les Paul Tribute Concert from 2010. If you are looking for a Strat that can handle everything that you can throw at it, the Jeff Beck Strat should be at the top of your list!
