This Gibson Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar in Vintage Tobacco Burst is brand new and weighs 6 lbs 15 oz. A simple recipe with Mahogany, Rosewood, and a single P-90 pickup makes this a stripped-down beast that lets you get right to playing! This LPJR includes its original case and manufacturer's warranty.
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved to Gibson's 50s Vintage Neck Profile that has a full but not fat feeling. A nice Rosewood Fingerboard with a 12" Fingerboard Radius, and 22 Medium-Jumbo Frets give you a highly playable surface that allows for great playability. The nut is made from Tusq and measures 1.695". Scale length measures 24.75" for the classic, slinky Gibson feel that makes bending so easy on the fingers.
A slab of Mahogany used for the body keeps the recipe simple. No binding, no carved maple top, no glue, just pure, unadulterated tone! With rear-routed controls that are also easy to navigate, this is a super clean-looking guitar with a nice Tobacco Sunburst, sprayed in 100% gloss nitrocellulose.
A single P-90 pickup in the bridge position keeps the electronics streamlined. Many players are averse to single pickup guitars, sighting their lack of versatility as the reason. An often overlooked fun-fact about 1 pickup guitars is that they have less magnetic draw on the strings. The more magnets you put near the strings, the more those magnets slow the vibration of the strings. LP Juniors and Fender Esquires are often the most fun guitars to play due to their exceptional liveliness.
The Les Paul Junior returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. Introduced as an affordable option for students and beginners in 1954, the Les Paul Junior has been embraced by musicians for over 60 years. The single cutaway slab mahogany body, single dogear P-90 pickup, single volume, and tone controls all add up to a whole lot of guitar which is greater than the sum of its parts. The fat 50's-style neck profile and wraparound bridge add to the equation for rock-solid tone. Available in Tobacco Burst and the new Ebony finish with tortoiseshell pickguard.
