The Martin 000-17 Acoustic Guitar in Whiskey Sunset features a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and Martin's most comfortable neck profile ever! This satin-finished guitar comes resonant, lively, and ready to rock!
The Sitka spruce top provides a bright, crisp sound paired with the mahogany back and sides and its focused articulation. The result is the perfect guitar to sing along with. The braces are also made of Sitka spruce, are scalloped, and formed in the classic X pattern. This guitar has a classic sound to it with less booming bass than a dread so the result is a well-balanced, even timbre'd guitar.
The neck is made from select hardwood. Not super specific! This is Martin's way of saying it could be mahogany, Sapele, cedar, or another suitably hard, toneful wood. The neck profile is the modified low-oval with High-Performance taper. The fingerboard is made from rosewood and comes with the 1955 Style 18 Fingerboard Inlays made from mother of pearl. 24.9" scale length keeps the strings feeling a little slinkier than any Martin with +25" scale length. The nut is made from bone and is 1.75" wide. This is a phenomenal guitar for finger-picking!
