This Used 2004 Martin 000-28 Norman Blake Signature Edition Acoustic Guitar No. 157 in Natural is here on consignment.

This guitar is in great shape. It was treated very well by its original owner and it remains free from anything negative worth mentioning regarding cosmetics or functionality. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with this Limited Edition Acoustic Guitar is the original Geib-Style Hardshell Case.

This was a Limited Edition offering from CF Martin, this being the #157 guitar in the series out of (right around) 333 made. It's an interesting model with unique specs like a 00-sized soundhole, 12 fret design, slotted peghead, and a custom fingerboard inlay pattern.

Prime ingredients such as Adirondack Spruce for the Top and Braces, and high-grade East Indian Rosewood for the back and sides give this guitar volume, projection, warmth, richness, and harmonic density. A Genuine Mahogany Neck is topped with African Ebony for the utmost in looks and performance. A Custom Modified V Neck Profile features 1 and 13/16" nut width which would make most finger-pickers happy.

This 000-sized guitar moves some serious sound thanks to its well-thought-out ingredients and complimentary bracing style. Getting a guitar to ring out while fingerpicking can require a bit more oomph from the picking hand but this guitar produces great tone without shredding your permanent picks!

From Martin's The Sounding Board Magazine...
"The Norman Blake Signature Models combine Martin 14-fret 000 body style and 24.9 scale length with a 12-fret (to the body) neck. This unique combination allows the top braces to be shifted forward to cross just below the soundhole and places the bridge lower on the top for greater soundboard vibration. A 00 size soundhole (1/8" smaller than 000) and 1/4" width scalloped braces enhance both bass response and dynamic range. The 000-28 Norman Blake Signature Models are handcrafted from premium solid tonewoods. The top and top braces are fashioned from Adirondack red spruce, highly prized for brilliant timbre. The neck is carved from genuine mahogany. The neck is a substantial 1 13/16 width at the nut. Carved with a pointed heel but without the traditional diamond volute, it has a special Norman Blake modified-V contour for player comfort. Custom tall, wide frets on the black African ebony fingerboard provide a similar feel to the bar frets that Norman Blake prefers. The unusual modified snowflake abalone fingerboard inlay pattern comes from a unique 00-42 produced by Martin for the Wurlitzer Company in 1922: a Maltese cross at the 3rd fret, two diamonds at the 5th fret, a square at the 7th fret, two diamonds at the 9th fret, a square with cats eyes at the 12th fret and a cats eye at the 15th fret. In keeping with Norman Blake's request for design purity, no inlaid signature appears on the fingerboard. Presented in a Geib style vintage case, each 000-28 Norman Blake Signature Model guitar bears an internal label personally signed by Norman Blake and Martin Chairman and CEO C.F. Martin IV. In addition, the labels are numbered in sequence."

Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, gets cleaned, then some fresh strings, and a full set-up before being put up for sale. We often even put guitars with worn frets through our Plek machine if need be! Rest assured, any Used Guitar from The Music Gallery has certainly passed its physical!
