This PRS SE Custom 24-08 Electric Guitar in Eriza Verde offers incredible performance for the money! The SE Series from PRS is their line of import guitars. With higher than average standards, Paul Reed Smith has selected a factory in China to make these instruments and they truly are impressive on every level when considering the cost. The Custom 24 has seen some fantastic refinements as of late. We are really digging the mini switches for individual coil-tapping, borrowed from the revered Paul's Guitar model!
The core ingredients for this 24-08 are Mahogany, Maple, and Rosewood. This is a time-tested tonewood combo made most famous by Gibson with the Les Paul. A figured maple veneer is used as the top wood before being finished in Eriza Verde. This is a bright green color that is exceptionally eye-catching. The back is made from mahogany and is finished in a clear gloss so that you can enjoy the grain of the wood.
The neck is made from maple and then topped with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has Old School Birds Inlays and carries a 10" fingerboard radius. 24 frets give us a full 2-octave neck to find the right note on. The neck profile is Wide-Thin which allows for fast playing and has great shred-ability. 1 and 11/16" nut width and 25" scale length offer a classic feeling PRS.
A pair of TCI Tuned S Humbuckers load this guitar with a bevy of musical tones. We aren't sure how PRS pulls it off but their pickups seem o sound better in coil tap mode than many other winders. Yes, there is still a bit of a volume drop-off when switching modes but it's not as severe or 'tone sucking' as it is with other pickups. These pickups are steeped in a Vintage Sauce but made to work better with modern amps. That's what I call the best of both worlds! Master volume and master tone controls allow you to dial in your sound easily.
