A Mahogany Top tends to dampen the response of a guitar thanks to the wood being denser than the typical piece of Spruce, a brighter, less compressed sounding wood. Tasmanian Blackwood has a well-defined mid-range and strong projection which helps the Mahogany top in some of the areas that it struggles with. These woods have a darker vibe and pair with the Shade Edgeburst, you have one alluring looking instrument!
The neck is made from Mahogany is carved to Taylor's Standard Neck Profile. The fingerboard is made from Ebony and carries a 15" fingerboard radius for a uniformly flat playing experience. 1.75" nut width is paired with 25.5" scale length which keeps the strings feeling taut and the guitar sounding bright and loud.
