We all know that Collings makes one heck of a guitar and this 290 DC is no exception! Think Les Paul Special Double Cut but with that accuracy and build quality that Collings is known for. Finished in TV Yellow, this guitar weighs in at 7 lbs 5 oz.
The neck is made from Honduran Mahogany and is topped with a Rosewood Fingerboard. The fingerboard carries a 12" radius and 22 medium-sized frets are installed. Nut width of 1 and 11/16" and scale length of 24 7/8" provides a very Giibson-esque playing experience.
The body is made from Honduran Mahogany which helps the guitar weigh 7 lbs 5 oz . It is finished in TV Yellow, a classic Gibson Color is often seen on guitars from the 1950s. It has a double-cut body as well for unfettered high-fret access.
A pair of Lollar P-90 Pickups are tried to 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls, and a 3-way pickup toggle switch. These are marvelous-sounding pickups with unrivaled clarity. The bridge pickup can bark and bite with the best of them. The neck pickup is fat, round, and warm. In the middle, we find the two balance one another beautifully and give us a rich, acoustically dense sound.
