This Used 2012 Hofner Diamond Jubilee Violin Bass 40 of 60 is here on consignment. This bass was purchased as a collectible and it remains in fantastic shape. There is one very small area of blue paint on the body that looks as though it's chipped a little. This is not a chip or wear and tear as the clear coat is over it, meaning that spot wasn't painted before the clear coat went on. Look closely at the pics of the face of the bass to see the spot. Besides that, the bass is clean cosmetically and fully functioning. Included with this limited edition bass is its original hardshell case, its certificate of authenticity, and some special Hofner Paperwork.
This Hofner was handmade in Germany. It is part pf a Limited Edition from 2012, the Diamond Jubilee Violin Bass! This one is #40 of only 60 made. This bass is just like the one that Paul McCartney played at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012. It's patterned after a 1962 Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass and it features a highly resonant, lightweight, fully-bound, violin-shaped hollow body. With gorgeous Flamed Maple back and sides along with a Spruce top featuring a gorgeous Union Jack under a high gloss finish. The 30" short scale Flame Maple set neck has a 22 frets on its Rosewood fingerboard with White dot position markers. The pickups are the passive Hofner "Staple" type which provide an authentic "Paul McCartney/Beatles" tone. The bass is strung up with flatwound strings to give it the original classic tone of the 1960's.
