With a solid Sapele top, back, and sides, the Martin Road Series D-10E Acoustic-Electric Guitar in Satin Sapele delivers a great-sounding guitar at an affordable price. New to this model is stunning mother-of-pearl pattern fingerboard inlays with a multi-stripe rosette border. It has an FSC® Certified Richlite® fingerboard and bridge, satin finish body, and a hand-rubbed neck finish. Sapele is a relatively new tonewood compared to Mahogany or Rosewood. However, it is no substitute wood, it's an additional tonewood. This wonderful species actually ranks a bit higher in hardness than mahogany. Typically this produces a slightly brighter-than Mahogany tone with a little less resonance absorption and a little more reflection. All Mahogany Guitars tend to be very warm, dark, and somewhat quiet compared to the same guitar with a Spruce Top.
