This PRS McCarty 594 10 Top Electric Guitar in Black Gold Burst weighs in at just 7 lbs 8 oz. It features a stunning Black Gold Burst finish over a carved and highly figured maple 10 Top. The mahogany body is a little thicker than on the Custom 22 and 24 models for some added sustain, body, and resonance. The McCarty 594 gets its name from the slightly elongated 24.594" scale length that the guitar is built with. This scale length feels very Gibson-esque. The strings are slinky, bendable, and easy on the fretting fingers. The 2 piece bridge and double volume, double tone, 3-way toggle layout is certainly leaning on Gibson's familiar layout. However, the tuning stability of the McCarty 594 is on a whole other level. PRS Guitars have engineered the foibles and shortcomings out of this type of design. 

The 58/15 LT Humbuckers are our shop favorite offering from PRS. These "Low Turn" humbuckers are far more open, airy, and dynamic than any other pickup in the companies history. Each pickup gets its own volume and tone control and is accessible alone or in tandem via the 3-way pickup selector toggle. Each pickup is tappable via a push/pull tone control. This single guitar can go from Tele-type spank and cluck to fat, clean, and warm humbuckers to singing, soaring high gain leads. 

The top of this guitar is made from carved and figured maple. PRS has given it the 10 Top Rating thanks to every inch featuring figuring. The flames are medium thickness and are tightly matched. The back is made from mahogany. This tonewood combo is certainly one of the most popular these days as it has been since the early days of the electric guitar. The guitar is finished in Black Gold Burst and it compliments the highly figured maple top perfectly. The artisans in the finishing department at PRS know how to read Maple better than anyone on the planet. They always seem to know what color(s) will bring out the best in a piece of wood. 

The neck is made from mahogany and is carved into the Pattern Vintage Neck Profile. The fingerboard is made from rosewood and carries a 10" fingerboard radius. Faux Bone binding on the fingerboard looks amazing and perfectly dressed fret ends feel amazing.
