Bob Taylor started the Taylor Guitar company in 1974, the same year The Music Gallery opened! As of 2012 Taylor Guitars had more than 700 employees in two factories: one in El Cajon, California, and the other in nearby Tecate, Mexico, where the company makes their lower-priced models and guitar cases. From their Academy Series to their Presentation Series Taylor Guitars provide consistent value and performance.
Tried and true time tested Tone Woods along with Exotic Tone Woods from around the Globe are used by Taylor across all their product lines. Ebony Fingerboards are featured on just about every Taylor made unless an even MORE exotic wood is used. A variety of Spruce species have been used over the years with Sitka being the most common. Often times we will see highly figured Koa or Mahogany tops, offering a beautiful contrast to the typical white/yellow of Spruce. From elegant body bindings, to complex Vine Fretboard Inlays, Taylor is building their finest, most visually striking guitars ever.
Playability has always been at the forefront of 'The Most Playable Acoustic' conversation. Many find them to play like an electric guitar, thanks to a universally comfortable neck. Low action, well dressed frets, a perfectly cut nut, and an easily replaced neck should something go array, means you'll always have a great playing guitar. EVERY Taylor seems to have been cut from the same cloth, so to speak.
The Music Gallery of Highland Park is an authorized Taylor Guitar dealer so any Taylor purchased from us comes with its full manufacturers warranty, any case that was originally shipped with the guitar, and all original paper work. We carry the full line of Taylor Guitars but if we don't have what you are looking for, give us a call or send us a message and we can find it fo you.
