The Taylor 714ce Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a Limited Edition Run and features Solid Blackheart Sassafras back and sides along with a Solid Lutz Spruce Top. The Grand Auditorium body is Taylor's most popular and versatile shape. Great for flat-picking, great for fingerpicking, the perfect jack-of-all-trades acoustic-electric guitar!

The Grand Auditorium Body Shape features proportions that fall between a Dreadnought and a Grand Concert. The body runs 20" long, 16" wide at it's broadest, and 4 5/8" depth. This body style was designed to handle whatever you throw at it with grace. Fingerpicking yields a warm and sweet tone, while flat-picking scoops the mids, letting the low-end bloom and the top-end sparkle.

The Lutz Spruce Top seems to have the perfect strength to weight ratio. This wood is elastic but rigid making it an ideal choice for the player looking for a dynamically expressive acoustic guitar. Lutz Spruce is offered considered to sound like Old Growth Adirondack Spruce. Adirondack is loved for its extra stiffness that allows for more volume, a faster attack, and a brighter sound perfect for competing with mandolins and banjos.

The back and sides are made from solid Blackheart Sassafras. This wood ranks in at 1090 on the Janka Scale. This puts it between Mahogany and Maple so it makes sense when Taylor says, "Sassafras blends the midrange warmth of mahogany, the top-end sparkle of rosewood, and the clarity of maple into a player-reflective voice that responds well to the nuances of a player’s attack." The wood selected for this guitar certainly has strong visual appeal.

The neck is made from Mahogany and topped with an Ebony Fingerboard. The Standard Taylor neck carve seems to be the most agreed-upon neck profile in guitar-making history. The Reflections Fingerboard and Peghead Inlays are tastefully elegant designs. 25.5" Scale Length keeps the strings feeling taut and snappy. 1.75" nut width puts the strings in familiar places.

Other notables include an ebony bridge, Taylor's Smoked Nickel Tuners, Rosewood Binging, a Maple/Black/Douglas fir Purfling, Douglas fir Rosette, the Taylor Expression System 2.0. Included with the guitar are the manufacturer's warranty and the original hardshell case.
