This Used 1989 Gibson ES-335 Semi-Hollow in Cherry Red is in on trade and it is in great shape, especially for its age. It is clean, cosmetically and it is fully functioning. The neck is straight, the original frets are still crowned and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case. No breaks. Original Tim Shaw era pickups.

Well, we all know Gibson is a quirky company and this guitar certainly has 1 interesting quirk. We have been a Gibson Dealer since 1974 and this is a new one! For some reason, the back of the guitar features a Figured Maple outer veneer. The flame isn't over the top or gonzo, it's quite subtle but still obvious. Meanwhile, the front of the guitar is plain. Not sure why they would put the flame on the BACK but hey, what do I know! Now that we have that out of the way...

The venerable ES-335 has never been hotter. We have been flipping new ones as quickly as they arrive. This now Vintage guitar probably won't last long either, especially because it's a darn fine guitar!  With its laminated, semi-hollow body design, this guitar produces big tones, with a dark, warm, and wooly low-end, meshed with an articulate top-end, this guitar emits classic tones!

A pair of Gibson Humbuckers Pickups are each tied to their own volume and tone controls. The pickups are available individually or in tandem thanks to the 3-way pickup selector switch. The original electronics are still installed in this VIntage Electric Guitar.

The neck is made from Mahogany and is topped with a beautiful Rosewood Fingerboard. The fingerboard is bound for the classic Gibson appearance. The neck measures in at .825" at the 1st fret and .967 at the 12th fret. 24.75" scale length provides that slinky feel Gibson Guitars are known for. The Dot Inlays on the fingerboard are responsible for the nickname of "The Dot".

Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
