This Dale Wilson Masterbuilt Stratocaster Heavy Relic is a thing of beauty! Not only is it supremely cool looking, but it has a neck carved for the Gods and sounds like 10 million bucks!
One can't help but immediately catch the Hendrix-ian Vibes this late 60's repro is casting off. From the reversed headstock to the reversed cant bridge pickup, this is as Lefty as a Righty can be! The large paddle headstock and Olympic White finish help seal the deal. The finish, or what's left of it, is patina-ed like no other guitar we have ever seen. It looks like nicotine, sweat, and a heavy pick have given this instrument it's unique appearance though luckily... it's hasn't been subjected to ANY of that nastiness!
The neck is a 69 U Shape which is beyond comfortable for those liking a medium-large neck profile. Plenty of should to fill the hand out makes this one of my personal favorites. But to have it carved by Dale Wilson to literal perfection, makes this neck fit like a glove. A 9.5" fretboard radius and Sanko 6105 frets give you a great playing surface no matter the style. On top of being one of the most comfortable necks in the shop, it legitimately looks like it was made in 1969. The patina/aging on this neck looks VERY similar to many of the vintage Strat's we have seen from this era. Dale is at the top of his game, people! This guitar is awe inspiring!
For the electronics. we have a Handwound 69's from Josefina, in the middle and neck position. For the bridge, a Josefina Handwound Fat 60's bridge pickup makes that position a little less shrill than the 69 bridge which can get a little rough on the ears. This early 60's substitution makes it warm, richer and add's some much need low end into the mix. A master volume and 2 tone controls tied to a 5 way switch give you familiar Strat electronics.
This one won't be around long. Call quickly for more info or just hit the buy it now.... Guitars this cool don't last long around here!
