This Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Eric Clapton Stratocaster by Todd Krause in Mercedes Blue weighs 7 lbs 14 oz and is here on consignment! Overall, the guitar is in great shape but there is a ding o the side of the guitar which is down to the body wood. You can see the ding in the close-up pics so make sure to take a look. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
The name Eric Clapton has been tied to the Fender brand for decades and this guitar, a Masterbuilt Clapton Signature Strat by Todd Krause would certainly be appreciated by Mr. Clapton himself, as Krause has been building Clapton's touring guitars for years.
Mercedes Blue is a tricky color to photograph so make sure to take a look at all the pics. Sometimes it looks black but we can assure you this one is finished in Mercedes Blue which has a fine metallic flake in it. It's a deep dark blue and we love it every time we get to see it!
The Clapton Strat is an instrument that can run the tonal gamut from super spanky cleans a la Lay Down Sally to the searing lead tones on the Journey Man record. The active Mid Boost control adds in a lot of output making the Vintage Noiseless Single Coil pickups sound like high output humbuckers. A factory-installed 5-way switch gives you immediate access to all the quintessential Strat tones that have spanned decades and been heard on countless hit songs.
The neck profile is a slender Soft V which is very easy on the hands. It's carved from a gorgeous piece of Plain Maple. The 9.5" fretboard radius allows for easy bending across the 22 Vintage Frets. The neck is finished with a satin urethane that is never sticky or tacky and simply will not slow you down no matter how sweaty your hands get.
The Vintage Style Tremolo comes with a block in it from the factory which freezes the trem from being used. This is done with a small block of wood and can easily be removed if you'd like the trem to function. This guitar is finished in Mercedes Blue over an Alder Body and bears the signature of Todd Krause on the back of the headstock. Included with the guitar are the original hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, and full manufacturer's warranty.
