At the Music Gallery, we are huge fans of the Journeyman Relic, huuuge. Evident by our collection of them, usually around a dozen in stock at all times. We have concocted our own 63 Stratocaster with some of our favorite specs but in a variety of cool colors. This one is finished in Aqua Marine Metallic, a seldom seen but seriously cool color!. It's a Journeyman Relic which means enough aging so that it looks like a vintage guitar but one that was treated with love and respect despite. Light dings and dents with a more tasteful and subtle approach to the aging process combine with some weather checking to give you an authentic vibe.
The neck is made from a piece of quartersawn maple that will off added stability. It's topped with a AAA grade piece of Rosewood that is nice and dark. The fretboard is carved to a 9.5" radius and then topped with Sanko 6105 Frets for a narrow but tall fretwire that performs great for the lead player and rhythm guy alike. A set of Handwound Single Coil pickups from Josephina are installed. They are wound to 1960's spec so they have all the bell-like top end, smooth mid range, and warm low end you'll expect. They sound great in all 5 positions. They provide nice quack and expression in positions 2 and 4 while 1,3, and 5 are powerful but very well balanced both from string to string and pickup to pickup.- Fender Custom Shop
