The Gibson SG Standard from early 2019 is different than the Standard 61 for 2019. It has the more robust body carves and the larger black pickguard instead of the bat-wing. The All Mahogany beast with a set of 490 pickups can rip and roar with gain or it can sweeten and darken up for jazz. A great lightweight alternative to the heaviest and or large Les Paul or ES guitars.
The SG has been the preferred guitar for many legendary players over the years. It's so easy to play, it's TOO easy to play for some. The best guitar for some one with a light touch might quite possibly The Gibson Sg. Easy Fret access all the way to the 22nd fret with one of the more comfortable neck profiles means you'll never have to exert yourself.
The 490 Humbucker set is a time tested macth made in heaven. These pickups have some real heat to them, medium hot, the jalapeno of the Gibson Pickup world. But they can sweeten up very nicely with use of the onboard colume and tone controls. The 3 way toggle gives you access to the perfect platform to dial in your tones.
