The latest batch of PRS Wood Library guitars has started to arrive! This time, we have the 1st Wood Library, Semi Hollow McCarty 594's! And yes, this is a REAL guitar though it certainly doesn't look like anything we have ever seen before! The top on this guitar is STUNNING! We went to the Paul Reed Smith Factory and hand selected the woods built into this fine guitar. Using the platform of the McCarty 594, we coaxed PRS into doing Semi Hollow versions. Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood, African Limba (aka Korina) and an insanely Quilted Maple combine to bring a world of tone woods together in one jaw dropping, beautiful guitar.
Finished in Grey Black Fade, this guitar will inspire awe from 1st glance. The highly quilted Maple top is rated at Wood Library Grade, just a notch below Private Stock and above Artist Package. A set of PRS 85/15 LT Humbuckers sound as great coil tapped as they do in humbucking mode. These guitars have a low amount of winds on them giving them a warm but very clear sound. Classic Gibson-esque electronic layout gives it a familiar feel but with a level of refinement PRS Guitars are known for. The neck is made from Indian rosewood and then topped with Brazilian rosewood for unparalleled warmth and bell like top end. The neck stays smooth and dry no matter how much sweat your hands produce. The body is made from some striking Korina, which has been hollowed or chambered making this a true Semi-Hollow guitar. This run of Wood Library Guitars is proving to be the best yet!
The Wood Library is a special section of the PRS Factory in which they store the woods that just don't quite make the Private Stock Grade. The woods there are stunning and PRS Guitars allows their dealers to come to the factory and select the woods to build 10 guitars at a time.
