This guitar is in on consignment. It is in great shape, practically unplayed. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case. This one is finished in Shocking Pink and according to some, only 225 of this color were produced out of the total of 900 JEM777's made.
The JEM777 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2017. It belongs to the JEM series which is a line of six-string guitars which are signature models for American guitarist Steve Vai. This model is a reissue of the JEM777, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the release of the original, which was the first JEM. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The JEM777 features a basswood body with special monkey grip cutout and lion's claw tremolo rout bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with disappearing pyramid position markers. Components include DiMarzio Evolution pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and a carbon fiber Ultralite arm and Gotoh tuning machines. It is also equipped with a Back Stop for the tremolo.
Differences from the original version include the neck (the original had a one-piece maple neck with scarf joint), the pickups (the original had DiMarzio PAF Pro pickups) and the frets (the original had 6100 fret wire).
The reissue has a special engraved 30th anniversary plate at the neck joint, and comes with a hardshell case, a certificate of authenticity in the form of a tour laminate with a lanyard and special picks.
