The Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass in Arctic Pearl is part of the latest new series from Fender! Replacing the Elite Series, The Ultra Series gets back to the company's roots but with perhaps its most playable basses ever! Forward-thinking, modern, AND vintage sounding, with classic looks and a host of noteworthy specs? How could it get any better?
The slick new color, introduced on the American Ultra Series, is called Texas Tea. It's a deep, dark brown with a medium-sized metallic flake in it. This finish looks like a metallic black in many lights but the whiter the light, the easier it is to see, this ain't black! In fact, it's way cooler. Hard to see in many pics and one of those colors best seen in person, we have already sold a handful of Strats and Teles in this finish.
The neck on this American Ultra Jazz Bass is made from maple and topped with a maple fingerboard. The fingerboard is then bound in black for a striking look, full of contrast. The fingerboard features a compound radius from 10" to 14", allowing maximum playability in all positions. No matter where you play, the notes don't choke out. 22 Medium Jumbo frets are installed and help provide an extremely comfortable playing surface.
One of the coolest aspects of the American Ultra is that they can go Active or Passive at the flick of a switch. Thanks to the geniuses at Fender, we can truly have the best best of both worlds (or at least fine examples of both) in one instrument! This electric bass features Ultra Noiseless Jazz Bass Pickups that keep the 60-cycle hum at bay all while sounding like an authentic vintage Jazz bass pickup. A 3 band active EQ is on board as is a Pan-Pot for pickup balance, and a master volume control. The amount of sounds you can find in this bass is beyond reasonable expectations. Another Fender win!
