This Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 1962 Stratocaster Heavy Relic by Dennis Galuszka in Faded Lake Placid Blue over Black is brand new and includes its original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. The Music Gallery is an Authorized Fender Custom Shop Dealer so this guitar includes its full manufacturer's warranty.
This Strat features a heavily distressed Color-over-Color finish which adds depth to its look. We have Faded Lake Placid Blue over Black, and you can easily spot both colors thanks to the well-worn finish. It has a nice tactile feel, especially in the worn areas. It's not perfectly smooth, Dennis did a great job making it feel like the wear was carved in with a belt buckle and a heavy pick.
The neck is made of Quartersawn Maple for added rigidity and the fingerboard is made from AAA-Rated Indian rosewood. The neck profile is the 60s Oval C Profile that measures .790" at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. It has what we think of as the quintessential early 60s Strat neck on it. It's been stripped of lacquer on the back for a smooth and dry feel. A 9.5" fingerboard radius, 6105 frets, 1.65" nut width, and 25.5" scale length cover the neck numerical.
The pickups are a set of Handwound Fat 60s Strat pickups with a Reverse Wound - Reverse Polarity middle pickup for noise-free operation in positions 2 and 4 on the 5-way switch. These pickups are based on the pickups of the early 1960s but with a little more oomph. A master volume and two tone controls make dialing in your sound easy.
