A Black Stratocaster from Dale Wilson, Masterbuider at the Fender Custom Shop! Throw on a 1 ply Black pick guard early 50's style and you have an undeniably killer guitar!
Dale Wilson has been producing Relic's lately that John Myatt would be proud of. That's the dude who tricked Sothby's and Christie's with his own versions of priceless pieces of art. Next to actual vintage pieces, they are very hard to tell apart. Dale's neck tinting is spot on but his fretboard radius and fret work is far superior to what we have seen on vintage guitars resulting int he best looking, best playing guitar.
A Rift Sawn Maple Neck is masterfully carved to a 60's oval C shape with a depth of .790" at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th fret. This would qualify as slim neck for our custom shop stock so if you dig a slim C that's does have a healthy taper, this is a great neck. The Fingerboard was made from AAA Dark Rosewood which features vintage fretwork and a 7.25" for an authentically vintage feel. 1.65" Nut Width, 25.5" scale length, and a hand cut bone nut give this guitar a vibrance and resonance that adds up to an inspiring playing experience.
If you aren't already hovering the Add to Cart button, the pickups are a set of Handwound Texas Special Pickups. These have always had that SRV association and they certainly do help push a tube amp into brown-town with some added heat and grease. These hand wounds clean up beautifully though, they are much more touch sensitive and dynamic. A master volume, 2 tone controls and a 5 way switch combine to grant you access to whatever it is your ear is searching for.
