Check out the specs on this Fender Custom Shop 1963 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic in Ice Blue Metallic: Alder body, Quarter Sawn Maple neck, 60's Oval C profile, AAA Rosewood Fingerboard and Hand Wound Ancho Poblano pickups, all for $3,760.00!
It's the pickups that really make this guitar one of the best values in the Fender Custom Shop lineup. The hand wound Ancho Poblano pickups are hot and spicy. Tons of mid-range kick. The bridge pickup is explosive. Big tone and tons of grit. The neck pickup is mouthwatering with a well balanced mid, sparkling highs and clear lows. The 2 and 4 positions have a snappy quack that will add attitude to any solo. A Master Volume and 2 tone controls with a 5 way switch round out the electronics.
The 60's Oval C neck shape is perfect. Just the right thickness and shape for every hand size. Made from a quartersawn piece of maple for added stability. The 9.5" radius and 6105 frets make bending and fast licks a breeze to play. It's topped with AAA Dark Rosewood for a great look. The neck carries sustain and resonance nicely, adding to the tonal quality.
