This New Fender Custom Shop 50s Telecaster Relic in Sunset Orange Transparent weighs in at 6 lbs 15 oz. This Electric Guitar comes with a lightweight 1 piece Swamp Ash body. Not only does the uninterrupted wood grain look amazing but the single piece of Swamp Ash is vigorously resonant! A fantastic neck profile, choice single-coil pickups, and a unique finish are just a couple of the cool specs!
As we all know Fender will be limiting the use of Swamp Ash moving forward so these 1 Piece Swamper's are going to become more difficult to get! Other quick notables include Twisted Tele Pickups, a Soft V Neck profile, 9.5" radius, 6105 frets, and compensated brass saddles combine for authentic 50's tone from the Tone-God's themselves!
Our 1 Piece Tele Relic's are really resonant, even unplugged. You can feel the body and neck vibrating in unison and they have a bright and pronounce "KERRANG" when strummed. The lightweight, hand-selected Ash body helps this guitar weighs in at 6 lbs 15 oz: a True Feather Weight! The Sunset Orange Transparent Finish on this specific guitar is utterly fantastic. It's lighter, a bit more faded than the typical SOT, and it allows the stunning grain to peak through just a bit more.
While we love the Nocaster Pickup set but the Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickups are a perfect Modern match for the 1 piece Ash body. The bridge pickup has that vintage, twangy tone with a good mid-range cut but the neck pickup is based on a Strat neck pickup and carries a bit more top end and output making it a much better lead guitar pickup than a traditional Tele. A master volume, master tone, and three-way blade switch grants access to all your favorite tones.
The neck is made from quarter-sawn maple for added stability and carved to a 57 Ultra Soft V profile. This neck shape is a bit softer than the average 10/56 and the V is undetectable to some. It is very easy to play thanks to manageable depth specs ( .850" and .960), the 9.5" radius, and 6105 frets. Scale Length of 25.5" and a nut width of 1.650" provide a classic playing and feeling Fender. You will have a hard time putting this twang machine down!
