What a cool guitar! This Fender Custom Shop 59 Special Stratocaster Journeyman Relic in Black has a super flamed out maple neck which looks amazing, especially with some aging toner and a slick relic job. AAA Flame on the maple neck is visible from every and any angle! Thanks to the classic Back Nitro Finish, this traditional-looking Strat does it with class and elegance!
A 2 Piece Alder body was selected and chosen for its lightweight. The guitar weighs in at a very manageable 7 lbs 13 oz. Finished in Black and aged beautifully, this Relic features a neck stripped of lacquer for a smooth and fast feel. All the other classic relic appointments are present. Make sure to take a look at the close up's for all the detailed pics.
We have a stunning piece of figured maple selected for the neck of this guitar. The neck is a 59 Esquire C Profile. This neck measures in at .833" at the 1st fret and .978" at the 12th fret. It has a thin feel from frets 1 through 5 then it starts to taper nicely before feeling more like a full U shape at the 12th fret. It excels at riffing down low and leads up high. The fingerboard radius is shaped to a 9.5" and the frets are 6100, a wide fret with medium height. 25.5" Scale Length keeps the guitar feeling snappy and 1.650" nut width puts the strings right under your fingers.
The pickups are a set of hand-wound Ancho Poblano Strat Single Coil's. These pickups have just the right amount of output to hit your amp with just enough oomph. These pickups also sweeten up beautifully and play nice with an amp set up for headroom. A Master Volume, master tone control, a Blender pot that mixes the neck and bridge pickups (Tele-Time!), and a 5-way switch give you access to all the sounds.
