How do you make a cool guitar even cooler? Have Dale Wilson build it and relic it! The Ancho Poblano Strat is something we have had in both Masterbuilt and Teambuilt form. This one is finished with a Classic "Over" finish with Lake Placid Blue sprayed over Two Tone Sunburst resulting in a VERY cool look! We have only had it hanging on the wall a few days and it's been pointed out by several customers as "obviously being a vintage guitar." Dale Wilson's ability to tint and age a neck perfectly certainly makes it hard to tell his guitars apart from a Vintage model but all you have to do is strum one chord to know this guitar was built with decades worth of know-how and experience.
One of the most note worthy features of this Masterbuilt Strat is a massive U Shaped Neck carved from a chunk of quartersawn maple. This is the Strat for a Nocaster Guy. Almost a full inch from nut to butt, this is a super fat neck that certainly helps produce volume and sustain. A 9.5" fret radius and 6100 frets allow for a fantastic playing surface. A Bone Nut, 1.650" nut width and 25.5" scale length provide that snappy Fender feel.
A set of handwound Ancho Poblano Stratocaster pickups are installed and they are quickly becoming a shop favorite. Enough heat to push an amp into drive mode a little quicker but they back off and clean up sounding smooth yet retaining articulation. A great pickup choice for those who play with their controls. A Master Volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5 way switch come stock.
