This Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 69 Stratocaster Relic Jason Smith Olympic White is in on trade. This heavy relic Strat was built in 2018 and is in great shape. Minus the factory distressing it is free from any obvious additional wear and tear. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod is functioning properly. Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
Masterbuilder Jason Smith builds some of the finest relics known to man. His aging jobs are so authentic that it is hard to distinguish them from some vintage pieces. That is until you play both and realize one is perfect and the other suffers from many of the vintage foibles that, once corrected, reduce the value considerably.
This guitar features a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and Reversed Large Period-Correct Headstock. Maple and Rosewood provide a classic tonewood combo that adds some warm and sustain over its all-maple counter-part. It features a 69 U profile,9.5" radius, 6105 frets, 1.65" nut width, and 25.5" scale length. The neck feels perfectly broken in, with the finish stripped of the back and masterfully rolled fingerboard edges, this neck feels like it has 1000's of hours on it!
The pickups are a set of Fender Custom '69 Stratocaster Single Coil's with an RWRP middle pickup for noisefree operation in positions 2 and 4. They are tied to classic Stratocaster controls with a Master Volume and 2 Tone Controls, with a 5-way switch. These pickups sound sparkly, chimney, and bell-like. A great choice for the great, under-wound Hendrix sound.
