The Fender Limited Edition American Professional Jazzmaster Sky Burst Metallic is a sight for sore eyes! Why? Sky Burst Metallic was our best selling color on the Fender Elite Series. When that series was discontinued, so was this color... until now! This time, to up the ante, it's on a Jazzmaster that has a solid Rosewood Neck!
A Rosewood neck does things to the tone of a guitar... interesting things. Good things. Let's compare Rosewood to Maple to help this make sense. Maple is fast and carries a very loud and strong plosive off the fingerboard. Rosewood swallows the peak of that loud plosive, tapering it down a bit making the guitar sound darker, warmer, and richer. Chords bloom when allowed to ring and my instinct is to slow way down, listen more, and play less. If you want the perfect Jazzmaster for rhythm guitar, this is it!
The neck is carved to a Modern Deep C Profile. The fingerboard radius is 9.5" and the frets are narrow tall. 25.5" Scale Length and 1.6875" Nut Width provides a taught feel and slightly wider fingerboard than vintage.
Sky Burst Metallic is a killer looking burst that has a medium/large sized metallic flake in it. So not only do we have the slick-looking silver to blue burst, but the flake in the finish truly makes it captivating! Finished over an Alder body, this guitar weighs in at 8 lbs 8 oz.
Originally intended for sophisticated jazz guitarists, the Jazzmaster was quickly embraced by musicians attracted to its left-of-center looks and fat sound. A direct descendent of the guitar that powered underground music from the late-'60s to today, the American Professional Jazzmaster is ready to lend its unique sound to your playing.
A pair of Pure Vintage 65 Jazzmaster Single Coil Pickups are tied to a 3-way toggle, master volume, and a master tone control. This is an easy guitar to navigate, so finding the sound you are looking for is always within reach.
