The Mustang was long thought of as a student guitar thanks to it shorter scale and easy of playability. Now, all sorts of players love short scale guitars for all sorts of reasons. No matter what you prefer, you can't argue with math and with the shorter scale you have frets that are closer together. If you have small hands or just a hard time stretching them than a Mustang may be the perfect choice.
This is a particularly cool Mustang with it's pair of MP-90 Pickups in it. Tied to simple controls of a master volume, master tone, and 3 way toggle you can easily search thru a bevy of tasty sounds til you find your sweet spot.
The C Shaped Maple neck is very comfortable. Not a super slim neck but not thick by any means. Its topped with a Pau Ferro Fingerboard that has a 9.5" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets on it. This is a very easy to play guitar. In fact stepping up to either 11 or 12 gauge strings is totally feasible without making it too difficult to play.
