The Gibson 1950s J-45 Original Acoustic-Electric Guitar in Vintage Sunburst features a subtle antiquing on the finish along with mahogany back and sides and a Sitka Spruce top. The 1950s Neck Profile has a nice full feel to it compared to the skinnier necks of the 1960s.
The Sitka Spruce top is a key ingredient to a great-sounding acoustic guitar. Gibson uses some of the best, musical-grade Spruce on their guitars which results in some truly fine-sounding guitars. Traditional Hand-Scalloped Braces allow the top to flex and push sound whether the guitar is being played light or hard.
The back and sides are made from Mahogany. This wood provides a dry, focused, powerful, and articulate sound. It is often the choice for singer/songwriters looking for an instrument to support their voice.
The neck is made from mahogany and the fingerboard from Rosewood. The neck carries a 50s rounded profile for a full feel. The rosewood fingerboard carries a radius of 12" and Standard Sized Frets are installed. The scale length is 24.75" and the nut width is 1.724".
An LR Baggs VTC Undersaddle Pickup is installed which allows this acoustic-electric guitar to plug into amps, daws, mixer, PA Systems, and anything with a 1/4" input! This pickup sounds marvelous and helps replicate the voice of your guitar's unique voice.
