This model comes with a very light Patina on its finish, Gibson's rather light VOS treatment. The hardware is also lightly aged, or tarnished but not as severe as its been in previous years.
A pair of Custom Wound Gibson Soapbar P90 pickups come loaded in the 1956 Les Paul Goldtop. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control and is accessible via the 3-way pickup selector switch.
The neck is made from 1 piece of mahogany and then topped with a rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard is bound and carries a 12" fingerboard radius. 22 Narrow Tall frets give you a tall surface to work with so big bends and vibrato are a breeze. A Long Neck Tenon was used which certainly adds to the sustain and stability this guitar provides. 24.75" scale length, 1.69" nut width, and a nylon nut round out the important details.
The body is made from a single piece of mahogany and then topped with a 2 piece, plain maple top. The body is constructed with hide glue offering you supreme resonance. The woods chosen are lightweight, vibrant, and resonant. This Les Paul weighing in at under 9 lbs without being chambered or weight relieved is pretty darn good.
