Gibson ES-335 Semi-Hollow in Sixties Cherry 230500014

Regular price Sale

The Gibson ES-335 is a staple of the Guitar World. This one features a beautifully figured maple top and back but technically isn't a figured model. Save 700 bucks on this plain-on-paper but actually figured beauty! The 335 has been the 1st Semi-Hollow on many players' list. From heavy-hitters to hobbyists alike, the 335 spans decades, genres, techniques, and styles.

The Gibson ES-335 DOT is the cornerstone of the Gibson ES line-up. From its inaugural appearance in 1958, the Gibson ES-335 set an unmatched standard. We have Pearloid dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard that has a 12" fingerboard radius. The neck features a hand-rolled Rounded "C" profile that reminds players where it all started. 22 Medium-Jumbo Frets helps this guitar play like a dream with low, wide fret surfaces that are ultra-friendly to big bends and vibrato.

Gibson's Calibrated T-Type humbucking pickups are paired with our hand-wired control assembly which consists of Volume and Tone controls for each pickup. These humbuckers are Gibson's finest attempt yet at making a pickup that sounds great clean and dirty. These humbuckers have a more open top end, with an airy presence, not common on many Gibson pickups but they sure are perfect for any Semi-Hollow. A 3-way pickup toggle switch grants access to each individual pickup or both.

The Tuning stability and precise intonation are provided by the Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, paired with lightweight Aluminum ABR-1 bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, anchored by steel thumb-wheels and tailpiece studs.

Remember, this one is priced as a regular ES-335, NOT a Figured version! That's a $700 upcharge for this guitar, normally!

Gibson is back with new leadership and the quality is already heading in the right direction! The first handful of guitars we have seen have had many of the issues addressed. Better cut nuts, even smoother frets, improved finish work, the improvements are quite obvious! We are stocking USA, Custom Shop, and Montana Made Acoustic Guitars again so make sure to stop by the shop when you get the chance to see how the NEW Gibson's stack up!
