This Gibson J-45 Studio Walnut Acoustic-Electric Guitar in Walnut Burst is brand new and comes with its full warranty from Gibson. The body on this J-45 Studio Model is slightly slimmer than a typical J-45 making it more comfortable for those with a slighter frame.
The Gibson J-45 model has been around a long time and it's seen a fair share of changes over the years. This model, the J-45 Studio, features a Walnut back, sides, and fingerboard. This domestic hardwood is gaining popularity as a tonewood thanks to no import duties, its abundance, and a bright-voluminous tone profile. While Walnut isn't for everyone, those with an affinity for top-end (treble) clarity, and those who prefer Mahogany will like its ability to support a singer with its focused presentation.
The top is made from Sitka Spruce. The most often used tone-timbre for all stringed and/or fretted instruments. Another abundantly available tonewood, this stuff needs no introduction but if you'd like to read up on it, check out Matt's Blog post on it.
The neck is made from mahogany and carved to Gibson's Advance Response Profile. This is a comfortable neck, on the medium-thin side that is agreeably comfortable to most hands. A Walnut Fingerboard carries a 16" radius and 20 Gibson Standard Sized Frets. The nut, saddle, and bridge pins are all made from Tusq. This guitar's scale length measures 24.75" and has a nut width of 1.72".
The guitar is loaded with an active Piezo pickup under the saddle. That means this guitar is ready for every situation you could find yourself in.
