This Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom in Ebony is being sold as a floor demo model. It's still in great shape but these all-black nitro finishes are tough to keep looking factory fresh. The Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom in Ebony is a truly-tasty version of the LPC that has all the good stuff! The Custom has always been the most elegant, classy-looking LP money can buy and this guitar showcases that perfectly. From the mirror-like, Jet Black Ebony Finish to the multiple ply's of binding on the body and headstock, this is one of the most captivating Les Paul's we have!

The ingredients are key; a mahogany body, a carved maple top, a mahogany neck, and a real, solid Ebony Fingerboard. The 2021 Custom checks all these boxes! Let's break it all down.

The body is made from Mahogany that features Gibson's 9-hole weight relief. The average weight on a Les Paul Custom tends to be more than a Standard, about a pound heavier, on average. This one weighs in at 10 lb 1 oz. The top of the guitar is carved from Maple, a brighter-sounding wood that adds some sweetness to the top end. 

The neck is made from solid Mahogany and has a solid Ebony Fingerboard. The fingerboard radius is 12" for a uniformly flat feel. 22 medium-jumbo frets are installed and give you a nice wide surface to do your thing on. Some elegant touches include stunning Mother of Pearl Block Inlays that seem to be a foot deep. Gazing into them is captivating! Classic appointments like 24.75" scale length and 1.69" nut width give this guitar classic Gibson feel. A long-neck tenon adds sustain and stability to the playing experience. This loved but often overlooked detail is found on all the Les Paul Reissues from the '50s and the 1960 LP Standard.  It's a top-shelf appointment reserved for top-shelf guitars!

The pickups are the classic Custom Humbucker combo of a 490R in the bridge position along with a 498T in the neck. These pickups are hot but not like the 500 Series. They sing with sustain in the neck and the bridge pickup absolutely rips! A Hand-wired wiring harness with 500K CTS Pots and a 3-way Switchcraft pickup toggle come stock.  Each pickup comes with its own volume and tone control for an endless array of tones.
