The new Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s Heritage Cherry Sunburst returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life!
The Les Paul Standard 50's has a solid mahogany body with a maple top, a rounded 50's-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. This classic tonewood combo is unbeatable when you want singing sustain, low-end beef, and fat body, even on the plain strings.
The calibrated Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are loaded with AlNiCo II magnets, audio taper potentiometers, and orange drop capacitors. Each of these fantastic sounding pickups is tied to its own volume and tone control and is accessible via the 3-way pickup toggle. The onboard classic Les Paul electronic orientation makes find the tone you are looking for easy to find.
It's also equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum stop bar tailpiece, vintage deluxe tuners with keystone buttons, and amber top-hat knobs.
Gibson is back in 2019 with new leadership and the quality is already heading in the right direction! The first handful of guitars we have seen have had many of the issues addressed. Better cut nuts, even smoother frets, improved finish work, the improvements are quite obvious!
