A mahogany body gets the conversation started. While the SG lacks the carved maple top of the Les Paul, it makes up for it with its Devil Horns and sleek edge bevels. Finished in Vintage Cherry, this is a classic color for a Gibson that allows the grain of the mahogany to peek through.
The neck is made from mahogany and the fingerboard is made from rosewood. The fingerboard carries a 12" fingerboard radius and 22 medium-jumbo fret wires. The neck is carved to Gibson's SlimTaper Profile which has long been the Gibson Neck Profile of choice for those playing rock and more aggressive styles. The fingerboard is also bound and has dot inlays.
A pair of Gibson's P-90 Pickups harkens back to the sounds of the 50s. These pickups have enjoyed many periods of resurgence over the decades and they have certainly been in vogue as of late! Each pickup has its own volume and tone control. A 3-way pickup toggle allows access to each pickup alone or in tandem.
