The Gibson Slash Victoria Les Paul Standard Gold Top is part of the new Slash Collection that celebrates the different periods of the iconic guitarist's career. Few players have stayed relevant since the 1980s. Slash pulled it off, though, and has always done it with a Les Paul around his neck.
Traditional Les Paul tonewoods get things started. A carved maple top glued to a mahogany back (with no weight relief) makes up the body. Single Ply Cream Binding sets of the Goldtop finish perfectly. The Gold Finish is of course 100% Nitro Cellulose Lacquer.
The neck is made from Mahogany and carved to a 50s Vintage Profile. A Rosewood Fingerboard carries a 12" fingerboard radius, while 24.75" scale length, and 1.69" nut width offer that classic Gibson feel. Other notables include 22 Medium-Jumbo frets, a Graph Tech nut, acrylic trapezoid inlays, and cream fingerboard binding to match the body.
A pair of Custom BurstBucker Humbucker pickups with Alnico II magnets are featured in this guitar. The pickups are uncovered and double black for the unmistakable Slash Vibe. Each pickup has its own volume and tone control and is accessible via the 3-way pickup selector switch.
