This Martin Custom Shop 000-Custom w/ Highly Flamed Koa is the Belle of the Ball! Seriously, it's BY FAR the best-looking guitar we have in the shop. In fact, just seeing some nice Koa is a breath of fresh air as most of the good stuff seems to have just disappeared. What with Hawaii's stringent pandemic restrictions, it's not unreasonable to suspect that this lovely wood would fall in short supply. This acoustic guitar has 14 frets clear of the body, the 000 body style with nothing but stunning woods and equally stunning inlay work.
The 000 body size is smaller and thinner than a Dreadnaught, making it a great choice when someone is looking for a comfortable guitar to sit with. The sound also gets out of the guitar faster, thanks to the thinner nature of the 000. The low-end or bass is much less dominant, resulting in a more balanced and articulate sounding guitar. If booming does nothing for you and you like bright, the 000 should be on your shortlist. The body is bound with Ebony both on the top and back. It also features a 42 Style top inlay made from Paua Shell.
The neck is made from Select Hardwood. The neck profile is Martin's Modified Low Oval shape and it features the Performing Artist Taper. This is a great spec combo that players are falling in love with every day. The fingerboard is made from Ebony and is unstained. The Jet Black look of this fingerboard is brought to life with Martin's Aulson Vine Fingerboard Inlay. Beautiful colors radiate from the inlay, adding yet another layer to this guitar look.
