The Martin D-16GT Dreadnaught shaped acoustic guitar is loaded with a blend of awesome modern and vintage touches making it an instant classic for not a serious amount of money. Made in the Nazareth Pennsylvania CF Martin Guitar factory, the D16GT Acoustic Guitar offers a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides for a classic sounding acoustic guitar, perfect for singing along with.
The focused tones of mahogany lend themselves to vocals beautifully and a mahogany Dread is a thing to appreciate as a singer. It's not boomy or bass heavy, leaving articulate sounding chords out in the open to find your voice over. An X Bracing Pattern is present and they are scalloped for maximum tone and volume. The scalloping process involves removing small amounts of wood from the braces which allow for a more vibrant and resonant playing experience. A modified low oval neck profile carved from a piece of selected hardwood is then topped with a certified Richlite Fingerboard, an environmentally friendly product, deemed a Sustainable Wood Certified Part. The bridge is also made from the same sustainable wood product. Honestly, we can't tell the difference between this stuff and ebony. It's a seriously impressive product and a step in the right direction as far as the environment is concerned.
This guitar was Pleked during the manufacturing process at the Martin Factory, so you can rest assured that it is playing to it's potential, especially after being setup by our own George MacPhail! Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case, manufacturer's warranty, and we are always happy to restring and setup a guitar to your preferences. Heck, we even have a Plek Machine so if you had something special in mind, just give us a call and let's discuss what we can do for you!
