Don't let the 3/4 size fool you! The remarkable depth, richness, and clarity of this McPherson Touring Carbon Fiber Acoustic Guitar in Honeycomb Black could easily fool discerning ears.
At first glance, the seemingly holographic Honeycomb Black top widened our eyes and snuck a smile onto every face here at The Music Gallery. McPherson's signature quirks such as the offset sound hole and Cantilevered neck demonstrate the humble elegance of this guitar, while the gold enclosed hipshot tuners and pearloid inlays add the subtle swank that makes you say "There's just something about it."
The sound of the McPherson Touring Acoustic Guitars is surprising. This 3/4 size guitar has an unusually satisfying low end. It is thick and creamy, but doesn't compromise the clarity of the instrument with the boom or mud that sometimes deters great players from comfortable short scale instruments. The highs are bright enough to cut, but are more mellowed and sweet than sharp and abrasive.
Big things can come in small packages sometimes. This guitar is compact at only 4" body depth, 9 1/4" across at the upper bout, 8 1/2" at the waist, and 13" across the lower bout. At a 22 3/4" Scale Length, the McPherson Touring Acoustic Guitar is small enough to fit comfortably against the body while standing on stage, sitting on the couch, or in the bathtub (We absolutely DO NOT recommend this, but it's your guitar -- do what you want).
This guitar sings, but the LR Baggs 9 Volt Element Electronic System makes this guitar sing louder. This is a great choice in electronics for a guitar of this quality because it doesn't add or take away color from the instrument -- only amplifies!
