This PRS 35th Anniversary Custom 24 in Charcoal Purple Burst weighs 7 lbs 1 oz, a true featherweight for a solid body electric guitar! This stunning Paul Reed Smith is NOT a 10 top but My, Oh My does it look even BETTER than some 10's we have seen! Not to mention the Private Stock color. Read on if seriously cool, gorgeous, lightweight guitars do it for ya!
I keep stopping in front of this guitar, its striking finish certainly has my attention! PRS uses a Nitrocellulose over CAB Basecoat on the 35th Anniversary models for their incredible look. This finish has been used on Private Stock Guitars for years. A Highly Figured Carved Maple Top sits atop a Mahogany body. The neck is made from mahogany and the fingerboard is made from rosewood. This time-tested tonewood toddy (that's a cocktail and I'm into alliteration, so...) helps this guitar sing with sustain, body, and an articulate top end that is never harsh or brash.
The neck profile is Pattern Thin, the profile of choice for many Rock, Metal, and Shredder players looking for an easy-to-navigate, ultra-fast playing neck. The neck is made from Mahogany and topped with a Rosewood fingerboard with Birds Inlays. A 10" fingerboard radius provides a highly playable surface where bends and vibrato and really easy.
A Pair of TCI Tuned 85/15 Humbuckers give us fantastic tones, clean or dirty. The Genuises at PRS figured out how to fine-tune the frequency response of their pickups and they have never sounded better, more refined. A pair of coil tap switches are onboard which allow for maximum tonal versatility. A Master Volume and Master Tone Control allows us to tailor the tones to meet your needs.
This is probably the last of the 35th Anniversary Editions that we will see so if you missed out on snagging a new one, now is the chance! We didn't see any other 35th Models with a finish quite like this one so if the typical blues, reds, and bursts don't do anything for you anymore, make sure to take a close look at all the pics!
