It features an Ash Body, 1 piece Maple neck and fingerboard, and Hand-Wound 1955 Spec Stratocaster single coil pickups. This stunning electric guitar is finished in a luscious 2 Tone Sunburst. Included with this guitar is the certificate of authenticity and original hardshell case.
A little back story on this specific guitar. It was originally a special order for someone who was not able to take delivery of it. So make sure to take a look at all the specs as this one has some cool choices... Most notably a WLS Finish, compound fingerboard radius, Hand-Wound pickups, and a truss rod that adjusts behind the nut!
Fender has begun limiting the use of Swamp Ash so were are excited a new guitar shows up with a body constructed from this lovely tonewood. The body of this guitar is made from a 2 piece spread that is very nicely matched. Learn all about this time-tested tone wood here! This New Old Stock Strat is further beautified by the Nitrocellulose 2 Tone Sunburst finish that is factory fresh! No aging on this beauty so it's up to its owner to put the work in.
The neck is made from 1 piece of quartersawn Maple and is carved to an Eric Clapton Soft V profile. It measures in at .820" at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th fret. A compound fingerboard radius of 9.5" to 12" makes this thing SMOKE and with 22 x 6105 Frets, big bends abound! 25.5" scale length and 1.650" nut width give this Strat an At-Home feel from the first strum. The neck is finished in a WLS Coating, the same as a Clapton Strat. This finish is smooth dry, never sticky or tacky, and is a great choice for literally anyone. A Bi-Flex Truss Rod helps ensure this guitar can change with the seasons.
The pickups are a set of 1955 spec Hand-wound in the Fender Custom Shop. Tied to a master volume, 2 tone controls, and a 5-way switch, this guitar grants you easy access to all the quintessential Strat tones you'll need. From a biting bridge, to quacky expressiveness, to round-hollow and woody, this guitar absolutely nails the tones of the era. The middle pickup is a reverse-wound-reverse-polarity for noise free operation in positions 2 and 4.
Another couple of notable features are that the trem comes blocked (meaning a wedge of wood doesn't allow for any tremolo functionality, exceptionally well-rolled fretboard and fret edges. Don't miss out on this one-off if the specs speak to you!
