Every year PRS comes even closer to making the perfect guitar. This PRS Wood Library McCarty 594 in Fire Red Burst is as about as close as it gets.
Why is this guitar close to perfect?
First, we picked out the wood for this guitar from PRS's famous Wood Library. This wood is just one notch below the wood PRS uses for their Private Stock guitars. The maple quilt is absolutely stunning and the Korina back adds a nice mid-range to the tone.
Second, 58/15LT pickups. Voiced to sound like Paul's favorite Gibson pickups they have a vintage tone to die for. Combined with the push/pull tone controls that allow you to split the coils for even more tone and you have a versatile guitar.
Third, East Indian Rosewood neck with a Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard. This combination adds a bit of depth and sustain. The Brazilian Rosewood is dark and nicely figured.
Last but not least, the construction is exceptional. Paul puts a lot of love and pride into his guitars and this one is a great example.
