This Taylor 814ce LTD Cocobolo Acoustic Electric Guitar is part of a 2020 Winter NAMM Show Exclusive run. Crafted with Cocobolo back and sides, this guitar sounds as rich as it looks and it looks like a million dollars. The Cocobolo Back features an edge burst, a subtle burst only on the back of the guitar that provides another layer of depth to this already stunning instrument. Paired with Taylor's "Singing Sitka Spruce" top, these guitars are exceptionally lively and resonant. That familiar Taylor Neck feel provides the utmost in Acoustic Playability.
Singing Sitka Spruce presents a slightly wider and more uniform grain, much like Adirondack, just not as widely spaced. This Spruce is named after it's ability to carry resonance in a very musical way. The Cocobolo back and sides have the harmonic richness of rosewood but with a bit more treble response. Cocobolo is one of the most striking woods you'll see so this is quite the eye-catching guitar.
Other notable appointments include Taylor's Performance Bracing System that used Hide Glue for the top braces. The Taylor Expression System 2 comes factory installed for acoustic/electric performance out of the box. A colorful Pau Rosette is complimented nicely by the ebony/ivoroid edging and ebony binding. The Nouveau Headstock Inlay is made from Pau and Mother of Pearl. Finished in Natural, they just don't get much nicer than this!
