Used 1966 Gibson SG Junior w/Vibrola in Cherry 502436

Regular price $2,900.00 Sale

This 1966 Gibson SG Junior w/Vibrola in Cherry is here on consignment and weighs in at 5 lbs 13 oz. This Vintage Guitar plays pretty well for its age but it would benefit greatly from a refret to breathe some serious new life into this blast from the past. There are a couple of buzzy zones and dead-spots but that's to be expected on any original guitar that is 50+ years old. It's still a fun, inspiring play and the single P-90 Pickup absolutely rips! The neck is straight, and the truss rod is functioning properly.

The guitar is strung with 11 gauge strings to provide proper intonation for the bridge which was designed for a wound G string. Included with this guitar is a newer hardshell case that you can check out in the pics.

The pots date to 1965 and everything else is checking out as original. It's in pretty nice cosmetic shape though it does have weather checking, dings, dents, all the classics but nothing that is of real detriment to the performance of the guitar.

This 1966 Gibson SG Junior has that skinny nut width that is a love/hate for anyone who has played it. Chords have never required less stretching. Got sausage fingers? Go find a 2015 Gibson. Got slender fingers and small hands? This may end up your favorite neck of all time!

Nobody treats used guitars as we do at The Music Gallery! Every trade-in goes through an inspection, cleaning, restring and set up before being put out on sale. We even put guitars with bad frets through our Plek machine if need be. If this service piques your interest learn more here or give us a call!
